FAQ’s

  • At Heritage Daycare, we follow Alberta’s child care regulations to ensure proper supervision and individualized attention:

    • Infants (3 – 12 months): 1 educator for every 3 infants

    • Toddlers (13 – 19 months): 1 educator for every 4 toddlers

    • Preschoolers (3 – 5 years): 1 educator for every 8 children

These ratios allow us to provide personalized care, safety, and meaningful interactions for every child.

  • We focus on building secure attachments and positive relationships by:

    • Providing consistent routines and responsive caregiving to help children feel safe.

    • Encouraging social skills like sharing, turn-taking, and cooperative play.

    • Supporting emotional regulation by acknowledging feelings and teaching self-soothing strategies.

    • Ensuring educators actively listen, engage, and model kindness and respect in daily interactions.

  • To maintain a healthy and safe environment for all children, we ask that parents keep their child at home if they exhibit any contagious symptoms, including:

    • Fever of 38°C (100.4°F) or higher

    • Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours

    • Persistent coughing, difficulty breathing, or wheezing

    • Unexplained rash, red or irritated eyes, or any communicable illness

Children may return to daycare once they have been symptom-free for 24 hours without medication or with a doctor’s note stating they are not contagious. If a child becomes ill while in care, parents will be contacted immediately for pick-up.

We follow public health guidelines to ensure a clean and healthy environment for all children in our program.

  • We believe in open and transparent communication with families. We provide:

    • Daily updates on meals, naps, and activities.
